On the day of your move, wearing the right clothes and shoes for the occasion will make a big difference for you.
While you might think that wearing baggy clothes would help keep you comfortable when you’re hauling things back and forth, what you should really be wearing are clothes that are a little more form-fitting so that they stay out of your way. Along with this, you’ll want to wear close-toed shoes, just in case you drop something on your foot while moving it. And it’s also a good idea to wear clothes with deep pockets so that you can keep things like your phone, keys, markers, and anything else you might need at a moment’s notice on moving day.
Learn How To Properly Lift
Moving all of your belongings from your home to a vehicle and then into a new home requires a lot of muscle and stamina. So if you’re not used to using these muscles on a regular basis, you may want to brush up on your lifting technique as you prepare for moving day.
When lifting something heavy, make sure you use your legs and don’t bend over with your back. Try to avoid twisting when holding something heavy, too. By doing some heavy lifting, either at the gym or around your house, in the weeks leading up to your move, you should be able to get yourself used to heavy lifting by the time you move.
Eat Food For Fuel
Although your moving day is going to be very busy and eating whatever food is around might be the most convenient thing, if you want to maintain your strength and energy throughout the day, you’re going to need to pick food for fuel.
Make sure you’re not skipping meals because you’re too busy, as this could cause you to lose a lot of energy during the day. And try to ensure that you’re eating enough protein and vegetables so that you get the vitamins and minerals you need to keep working all day long.
